History

The ALERT’s arrival represented the completion of the first stage of an investment of £38 million on three new vessels by the General Lighthouse Authorities (GLAs) of the United Kingdom and Ireland.

October 11th 2005: Launched.

April 10th 2006: Taken over by Trinity House. Registered owner: Williams & Glyn’s Leasing, The Promenade, Cheltenham UK. Ship manager: Trinity House, Tower Hill, London UK.

April 13th 2006: Arrived in Harwich to complete her final trials before entering service with Trinity House.

The ship is stationed on the south-east coast of England in order to be able to react immediately to shipping accidents in the English Channel and the Strait of Dover.
